Anisha Blanés Kall
on a road with a camera and a horse...
Anisha Blanés Kall was born in New York City, where her love of art began. Exposed to others of different worlds and cultures, Anisha’s love of the photographic medium and its ability to capture existences of places and people in particular moments of time has persisted and continues to grow. She began documenting the lives of her home city, its environs and its people. Her interests in observing the relationship between environments and the people that sometimes occupy them, recording a presence in time and place, has led her to many different places near and far from New York.
She has traveled extensively to Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Central America exploring places and cultures. As you view her work, within each composition, one becomes acutely aware of what is left behind after time, what of the presence of events and existences has persisted. While much of her work is photo-based, she is constantly exploring ways to document what she sees. Anisha uses various media such as sculpture, painting and drawing to create her bodies of works inspired by her respect and awe of the many ways by which we perceive existences and places in time. Her studio is currently in Roslyn, New York.
